Admission to DCIS for the 2017-18 School Year
We are excited that you are considering DCIS as a school choice for your student for the upcoming school year. We encourage you to get to know our mission statement, international studies program of study and the opportunities that a globally focused education can provide to your student. We have a two-step admissions process.
Step 1 — Attend an Open House and Complete the DCIS Information Card: This year, we have open houses available 7:30-9:00am on 9/28, 10/6, 10/17, and 11/1 as well as 6 -7:30 p.m. on 11/15 and 1/18. Click here to learn more about DCIS Open Houses.
Step 2 – DPS School of Choice Process
If you are a current DPS family and your child has a 6 digit ID, you will be able to do your choice online through Parent Portal.
If you are an out-of-district family, you will need to pick up a hard copy of the choice form at any DPS school and turn it into any school by the School of Choice deadline (TBD). Dayana Quintana, located in the main office at DCIS, can help you locate and complete the DPS online or paperwork process during the month of January. The DPS School Choice form will ask you to rank your top 5 preferred schools within DPS, including transitional schools, charter schools and magnet programs such as DCIS. This form must be signed and turned into any DPS school, elementary through high school. If you would like to attend DCIS, be sure to indicate DCIS as your #1 choice!
The only students who will be considered for enrollment at DCIS are those who rank DCIS on their DPS School Choice form. If you do not select DCIS as your 1st preference school, please know that it is possible that your child may not be assigned to DCIS. If you have any questions about the new School Choice student matching system, please visit http://schoolchoice.dpsk12.org/ or call the DPS Office of Choice and Enrollment Services at 720-423-3493.
Please do not call DCIS with questions about School Choice, as we are unable to monitor or run the school choice process.
All students will be notified of their 2017-18 school assignment through a written letter from the DPS Office of Choice and Enrollment Services in Spring 2017.
