School Trips

DCIS offers many opportunities for students to travel, including study-abroad trips for individuals as well as teacher-led, school-sponsored trips for groups (click here to see photos from previous years’ trips). Below are offerings for this year. Please contact the sponsoring teacher for more information and to sign up!

Canyonlands Utah 10th grade 2016

2016-2017 SCHOOL SPONSORED TRIPS:

  • RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA – LAKOTA LANGUAGE COMPETITION (DEC. 2016) – Open to Lakota 3 & 4 students. Sponsor: Ms. Locke

  • PANAMA – GLOBAL ISSUES NETWORK CONFERENCE (MARCH 7-13, 2017) – Open to high school students who want to change the world. Sponsor: Ms. Hilborn

  • ITALIAN EXCHANGE (MARCH 2017) – Open to high school students taking Italian. Sponsor: Ms. Bishop

  • ITALY-ROME, VENICE, FLORENCE (MARCH 2017) – Open to middle and high school students. Sponsor: Mr. Tabano

  • LONDON THEATRE TRIP (MARCH 2017) -Open to students in grades 8-12 interested in theatre and drama. Sponsor: Ms. Kerswell

  • CANYONLANDS SOPHOMORE TRIP (MAY 2017) – 10th Grade Class Trip – Sponsor: Ms. Finnegan-Doyon

  • COSTA RICA (JUNE 5-12,2017) Open to Middle School students. Sponsor: Ms. Iverson

    PERU – INCA TRAIL AND PERUVIAN HEARTS (JUNE 9-19, 2017) Open to High School Students. Sponsor: Ms. Finnegan-Doyon. This is a strenuous trip. Students should be prepared to camp and carry 30-40 lbs and hike.

Other opportunities:

Rotary Youth Exchange – Offers high school students an opportunity to apply for an academic year abroad. Applications are generally accepted in the fall for the following school year. Contact your local Rotary for more information and details. Applications due November 1, 2016
