Collaborative School Committee (CSC)

Colorado law requires all schools to have a Collaborative School Committee (CSC) to increase the degree of accountability and family involvement in our schools. The purpose and scope of the CSC is to enhance student achievement and school climate, and to provide strategic direction supporting the school’s mission and vision, as articulated in the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP). Additional information about CSCs is available on the DPS CSC website.

The DCIS CSC provides an opportunity for key stakeholders to have a voice in our school by bringing together families, students, staff and community members to create and implement a plan to promote high achievement within our school.

Committee members are elected by the DCIS community to two-year terms. Student members are appointed.

The CSC meets monthly (more frequently as needed during the budget process), and meetings are open to the public. The first 10 minutes are reserved for community comment.

Meeting dates, agendas and minutes are posted online and are included in the weekly DCIS Connect newsletter.

All members of the DCIS community are encouraged to reach out to their constituents with any questions or concerns they want the CSC to discuss.
