Social Studies Teacher
I was born and raised in Denver, CO. I attended East High School then went on to complete my undergraduate degree, with a B.A. in history and minor in speech communication, at Ithaca College in New York. After college I worked in Cherry Creek Schools with students at an alternative high school for two years. I then stepped away from education and managed various not profit associations before deciding my heart was in the classroom. I returned to school and earned my teaching license in secondary social studies education and a master’s degree in education and human development. I was first introduced to DCIS during the 2010 – 2011 school year as a student teacher and was then hired on full-time that fall. Since then I’ve worked with students grades 6 – 12 and deeply believe in the mission and vision of our school.
