DCIS Academy Opportunities

DCIS Academy will prepare your student for middle and high school before it begins! We will be offering three different school academies that students can register for, please read below for more information and registration links!

High School Academy

  • Learn ways to succeed in middle and high school, such as understanding graduation requirements and the  importance of a GPA and reading transcripts. 
  • Meet school staff and other DCIS students. 
  • Earn 2.5 elective credits for completing the NGA, and receive incentives and a small backpack  full of school materials. 
  • Receive free morning snacks and free RTD coupons for those who need transportation. 
  • Participate in engaging activities designed specifically for DCIS students.  

Dates: Monday, August 5, 2024 to August 9, 2024 from 8:00-12:00 pm

Middle School Academy

DCIS Sixth Grade Academy will take place from August 5th-9th, 2024 from 8am – 12pm. We would also like to invite all 7th and 8th Graders coming to DCIS from another middle school. At the academy, students will have a chance to meet their 6th grade teachers as well as having the chance to participate in team building activities with their classmates. They will learn tips and strategies for success in Middle School. Students at the academy will also learn about the Mission and Vision of DCIS as well as our Core Values. Native American and Indigenous Academy

DCIS first Native and Indigenous Academy will take place from August 5th, 2024 through August 9th, 2024. This academy will take place 8am-12pm on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th and from 7am – 5pm. On the 9th, we will be going to the Balarat Outdoor Education Center to do the High and Low Ropes Course.

This Academy is intended for all students at DCIS who identify as Native or Indigenous. At the Academy our Native and Indigenous Students will have the opportunity to build community through a variety of team building activities, exploring a variety of Native and indigenous ways and Being and Knowing and learning Academic tips and supports for success.  Please complete the Google Form to register your child for our Academy.
