Please feel free to contact Marisa Vasquez for further information or any question about enrolling into DCIS.
DCIS is part of Denver Public Schools’ SchoolChoice program and adheres to all deadlines set by the district. SchoolChoice decisions are not made by DCIS, but through the DPS SchoolChoice lottery system. Please visit DPS Choice & Enrollment for the most current information regarding this year’s process and deadlines.
Although DCIS does not require an application, we do have admission priorities like other schools in the district. An automated process fills spots in the order designated below, and a lottery system is activated when requests for admission exceed capacity.
SchoolChoice is for any student who wants or needs to attend a new school for the following school year. This particularly impacts transitioning students who are typically incoming kindergarten, sixth- and ninth-grade students who are moving into a new school due to their grade level. All incoming ECE students, as well as incoming students who reside in an enrollment zone, must complete an application.

While the majority of our students enter DCIS in either the 6th or 9th grade, we welcome students at other grade levels as space allows.
NOTE: All DCIS 8th graders are guaranteed a spot in the DCIS high school, but they must fill out a SchoolChoice application listing DCIS high school as their No. 1 choice to secure their spot.
