Based on feedback from a variety of stakeholders including parents, students, and teachers, we have changed our bell schedule to support time for students and teachers to work together and offer additional academic support. Starting in January we are bringing back office hours. Office Hours is a positive part of the DCIS tradition that gives students extra time with our teachers for academic intervention and enrichment.
Beginning in January, 2024, there will be a new entry time on Fridays at 9:00 am. Office Hours begin at 9:05 and will run until 10:00 am followed by the All School Meeting. District buses are shifting their pick up and drop off time following this schedule on Fridays. Attendance at office hours is required and student attendance records will be taken by our teaching staff.
We as a school community are excited to be able to address and support this decision and create space for students to get more support from teachers throughout the second semester.
