Isabella Ruiz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology and a minor in Chemistry from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work, further strengthening her ability to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development. She began her educational career in informal education, teaching science and leadership through outdoor and experiential learning programs, which sparked a lasting passion for nature-based learning and the outdoors.

With over 16 years of experience in education across P–12 settings, she brings both depth and versatility to her teaching practice. Her interdisciplinary academic background allows her to integrate science-based thinking, structure, and inquiry into her instructional approach.
She is excited to work at DCIS because of its strong commitment to diversity, leadership development, and inclusive community values, which closely align with her educational philosophy.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys exploring a variety of art mediums, reading and writing, and staying active through outdoor sports.
