Student Successes!

Posted December 18, 2023

This past month we had our DCIS students engaged in a variety of opportunities around Denver!

Our Challenge 5280 students represented DCIS at the 5280 summit! Their proposal focused on the marijuana tax, the upcoming school board election, bathroom policies, and equitable funding across schools from the revenue.

DCIS had four girls participate in the African-American Young Ladies, Leadership Summit (AAYLS) Program. Our students engaged with peers across the district, connecting action plans that they are going to lead throughout the school while developing characteristics for career interest goals.

Our talented students participated in ThesCon this week at the Colorado Convention Center downtown. This is the region’s leading educational theatre event.

Thank you to chaperones Charlie Tunnell and Caroline Kerswill for organizing this experience for our DCIS theatre team!

Two DCIS students have had some amazing accomplishments this year so far! Ringo Hope, a DCIS senior, has received a Congressional Appointment to The United States Naval Academy. Azim Camacho has been named a semi-finalist for the competitive Boettcher scholarship. We are so proud of our DCIS students!

Go Phoenixes!
