Shelley Stolitza is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina; Boston and Seattle. She attended Cleveland State University to earn her B.S. in middle school education, then earned her M.A. in American studies at the University of Massachusetts–Boston. Shelley also received her National Board Certification in 2014. In 2015, Shelley was a fellow in the Teachers for Global Classrooms program with the International Research & Exchanges Board of the U.S. Department of State. She and her cohort traveled to Brazil to explore global perspectives on education and work with Brazilian educators and students. This unforgettable experience changed her approach to education.
Shelley enjoys working at DCIS because of the school’s globalized approach to learning and teaching, and values travel. Her more recent travels have included trips to Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, Germany and South Africa. She also enjoys mountaineering, rock climbing and trail running with her husband.
